Build a Boat in Washington

From the Puget Sound to Lake Washington to the Columbia River, Washington’s waterways and busy ports make excellent backdrops for our Build a Boat team building program. Small teams collaborate to build fast and sturdy sea-worthy vessels using only cardboard, duct tape and nylon. Innovation, strategic-thinking, and problem-solving skills come to the fore as participants create top-secret boat designs. The final unveiling reveals kayaks, cargo ships, and sailboats that will withstand the choppy waters of the Puget Sound or the tranquil waters of your hotel pool. Captains then steer their boats across the finish line as their team members coach and cheer them on from the shore. We have enjoyed building our boats on the grounds of hotels like the Courtyard Seattle Downtown and then parading the boats over to Lake Union for our own exciting “Head of the Lake” race. Locations throughout Washington complement the creative collaborative challenge of our Build a Boat team building activity.
